SGShengci was founded by two working Singaporean parents who, through their own experiences of helping their own primary school children, developed an app to assist primary school students to more efficiently build and retain Chinese vocabulary.

We recognize that learning Chinese for a Singaporean student from an English-speaking household is a tremendous challenge given the lack of frequent exposure to the Chinese language and the large number of characters that need to be memorised. We started this app as a complement to tutors, parents and others who are tasked to assisting these students as we understand that vocabulary retention is a key foundation to success in learning Chinese.
